What is Paperclip?
Paperclip is an open-source control plane for running a business made of AI agents. If OpenClaw is an employee, Paperclip is the company: it gives your agents roles, reporting lines, budgets, and a shared goal, then coordinates who has work checked out, keeps sessions alive across runs, and tracks every decision in an audit log.

Self-hosting on InstaPods means your agents, API keys, and work products stay on your own server, not in someone else's cloud. No external database to manage
An embedded PostgreSQL runs inside the pod - no separate database server, no connection strings, no extra bill. All data persists under one directory for easy backups.
Login required by default
Ships in authenticated mode with a unique per-pod auth secret. You claim board ownership with a one-time link - strangers can't take over your instance.
Your keys stay on your server
LLM API keys live in your pod's environment, never logged and never sent to a third party. Secrets stay out of prompts unless a scoped run explicitly needs them.
Agent CLIs pre-installed
The Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode CLIs come baked into the image. Add your API key, authenticate, and your local agent adapters are ready to run.
HTTPS + custom domains

How It Works
Click Deploy
Select Paperclip from the app marketplace, pick the Scale plan, and click deploy. The embedded database and agent CLIs are configured automatically.
Claim & Add a Key
Sign up, claim board ownership with your one-time link, and add your Anthropic or OpenAI API key in the pod environment variables.
